Remembering Our Colleague Nakya Marshall.
We are heartbroken to share the news of the passing of our colleague Nakya Marshall.
Nakya was a shining light and embodied so much of what is good in this world. Her smile was contagious and brightened every room she entered. She radiated warmth, joy, and humor in her work as a Training Associate and Lead Trainer for Narrative 4.
Based in Atlanta, Nakya worked for Narrative 4 for three years and was an important and loved member of the team. Above all, Nakya was a mother, a wife, a daughter and a friend.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Cory, and her three children: Epiphany (36), Elijah (21), and Khouri (12). We hold them in our hearts during this unimaginably difficult time.
Her staff bio quoted Martin Luther King: “Everybody can be great because everybody can serve.” Nakya truly lived these words.
Her commitment to service began as a teenager as an active member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. As an adult, she continued her calling through eight years with the Georgia School Boards Association, empowering school boards and educational leaders. She later served four years with Goodwill of North Georgia, helping individuals with mental and physical disabilities find and sustain meaningful employment.
Nakya’s life was a testament to service, and her impact will continue to be felt by all who had the privilege to know and work with her.
Even in her passing, Nakya’s spirit of generosity endured. As an organ donor, she offered the ultimate gift of life to a grateful participant, embodying the love, courage and selflessness that defined her personality.
As colleagues and friends, we are shocked and deeply saddened by her sudden passing. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her husband, mother, children, family, friends and all who loved her.
Nakya’s friends have opened a Go Fund Me to support her family at this difficult time. Please click here to visit the page.
