Ithaca College

Ithaca College formed a partnership with Narrative 4 intentionally designed to support first year students as they adjusted to college life. Rooted in the Story Exchange, the partnership’s purpose was to build communication and community, opening up more opportunities for deeper discussions on campus.

Programming:
Narrative 4 Story Exchange & Training for Staff, Narrative 4 Story Exchange for Students

To support Ithaca College’s work, Narrative 4  trained a dozen staff and faculty members, supporting them by co-facilitating Story Exchanges for 300 members of the incoming first-year class.

This first year experience programming was intentionally designed to utilizing the Story Exchange as an essential part of first-year orientation, kicking off students’ college experience with connection and intentionality.

Impact:
Moved by the first year experience programming, Ithaca College students organized another exchange, bringing Narrative 4 back to campus to support student facilitators. The facilitators led a story exchange between different student religious groups on campus, supporting more storytelling, discussion, and civic discourse
