John Freeman

John Freeman, formerly the fiction editor at Granta, is the founder of Freeman’s, a literary annual published internationally. He is the editor of a series of anthologies about inequality, concluding with Tales of Two Planets, which focuses on the climate crisis and global inequality. He is the author of three books of nonfiction and two collections of poems, and his work has been translated into more than twenty languages. His forthcoming titles as editor include The Penguin Book of the Modern American Short Story and, as co-editor, with Tracy K Smith, There’s a Revolution Outside, My Love, both forthcoming in 2021 (the latter from Vintage).He is the Executive Editor of LitHub, and an Executive Editor at Knopf and an Artist-in-Residence at NYU.
