 How does our relationship with our community change our perspective?

During this lesson students will use an excerpt from Jamaica Kincaid’s A Small Place as a model for writing about their community from the perspective of an insider to an outsider of the community.

Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to use a mentor text to guide a writing piece.

Students will be able to write about their community from multiple perspectives (ie- a personal ā€œinsiderā€ perspective and an ā€œoutsiderā€ perspective).
