Your Place: Insider/Outside
How does our relationship with our community change our perspective?
During this lesson students will use an excerpt from Jamaica Kincaidās A Small Place as a model for writing about their community from the perspective of an insider to an outsider of the community.
Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to use a mentor text to guide a writing piece.
Students will be able to write about their community from multiple perspectives (ie- a personal āinsiderā perspective and an āoutsiderā perspective).
