The first Story Exchange in Canada launched at the University of Toronto Mississauga in 2018, sparking the growth of N4 across the campus. Today, N4 Canada is expanding through nonprofit partnerships like Harmony Movement, sharing stories in English and French that reflect the country’s diversity and inclusive culture.

N4 found its “True North” at the University of Toronto with a focus on integrating Story Exchange in higher education powered by Professors Rosa Hong, Liz Coulson, and Shekoufeh Sakhi.
Our Work in Canada
You’ll find N4 integrated across French language and literature, Education Studies, Women and Gender Studies, Conflict and Resolution courses, as well as Pre-University Programs for International Youth.
Through artist Mikaela Brewer, Story Exchange is also a key component of Breaking The Waves, a podcast exploring poetry, storytelling, and mental health.
