In this session, Imagining Together: World Making and Community Building through Collaborative Storytelling Games with Sean Patrick Cain, we’ll explore the art of collaborative storytelling, world-building, and imaginative play. Through gameplay, creative writing exercises, interactive discussions, and design study, participants will discover the power of modern tabletop games and how they can be harnessed to foster community engagement and drive social impact. Participants will develop practical strategies for using tabletop games to connect, empower, and activate their communities. Join us to unlock the potential of play in creating meaningful change!

Sean Patrick Cain-Presenter Bio:

Sean Patrick Cain is an educator, artist, and cultural organizer. They are the author of several award-winning roleplaying games, including Tattoo, Fake Chess, and Long Haul 1983 (named one of the 100 best board games of all time). Sean is a former K-12 classroom teacher and a current Lead Trainer and Regional Associate with Narrative 4.  Originally from Washington DC (Nacotchtank and Piscataway land), they’re now getting rustic with their partner, a dog, and a flock of chickens in the outskirts of Gibsonville, North Carolina (land of the Yesah Confederacy).
