Guided by our history, inspired by our future
In June 2012, a formidable group of literary minds, artists, philanthropists, and educators gathered to imagine ways to transform the world through stories. Five days later, Narrative 4
was born.
With our past as a guide and our purpose as a beacon, we are more motivated than ever by the future we’re creating together.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the heart of our story
Everyone has a story worth telling and we want to hear yours. We believe that listening to one another’s stories deepens our understanding of each other and the world.
To understand–and be understood–are essential foundations for authentic human relationships–where people are free to show up as their fullest selves, and where our differences form a bridge, not a divide.
We believe our neighbor’s wellbeing is intertwined with our own. If we can know one another more deeply, we can look out for each other, support each other, and stand up for each other in our communities and around the world.
We know that stories are just the beginning. Real world change takes positive action. We are building a global community committed to sparking collaborative change. We won’t always get it right, but we will always aim to do and be better.
We envision a world of equality, freedom, and dignity for all. We believe that if we can imagine a more just and equitable future, we can create it together, one story at a time.
