Discover new strategies for moving from idea to implementation in Unpacking the Creative Process: Finding creative arcs, loops, and threads to catalyze community action and drive positive change with Vrinda Mathur. This workshop focuses on crafting a dynamic process to inspire and sustain community action through the lens of the arts and design.

Participants will learn to build a compelling narrative, design iterative solutions, and foster continuous feedback and collaboration. By weaving together stories, building strong relationships, and integrating diverse insights, we aim to create impactful, inclusive, and sustainable community initiatives.

This workshop emphasizes systems thinking, visual storytelling, and empowerment—providing tools and strategies to measure success, celebrate milestones, and ensure lasting engagement.

Vrinda Mathur-Presenter Bio:

Vrinda Mathur is an Indian-born, Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary designer, storyteller, and strategist. Vrinda’s creative pursuits embody purpose, innovation, and impact as she dedicates herself to projects that address the intersections of sustainability, public health, and social impact through the lens of design. Her work stands as a testament to intentionality and strategy, skillfully transforming complex challenges into tangible interventions that inspire, empower, and shift mindsets. Through her multidisciplinary approach, she collaborates with organizations across scales, creating objects, installations, and exhibits, while also engaging in design strategy, community engagement, storytelling, and participatory design initiatives. Her clients include Mount Sinai, NYCEAL, Terra Carta Design Lab, Rhode Island School of Design, Democracy 2076, and Altimeter Design Group.

From 2014 to 2021, Vrinda played a pivotal role in co-founding and leading Studio Wood, an award-winning furniture and interior architecture practice based in New Delhi, India. During her tenure, she gained hands-on experience in furniture design and production, which adds practical know-how to her skill set. Vrinda’s leadership extended beyond the design realm; she led a dynamic team of architects and designers, fostering a passionate work environment that thrived on creativity. Her ability to represent Studio Wood on both national and international stages underscored her entrepreneurial acumen and leadership prowess.

Vrinda received her Master’s in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and her Bachelor’s in Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, India.
