Artists have the unique ability to speak from and to the present moment. Join award-winning artist, photographer, and visual storyteller Talamieka Brice for an interactive exploration of artists as the documentarians of their times. Talamieka will share her journey to becoming a multi-hyphenate artist and how a family story led to the creation of impactful new work. Participants will also examine how they can mine their own personal and familial histories for untold narratives. We hope to see you there!

Talamieka Brice – Presenter Bio:

Talamieka Brice is an international award-winning visual artist, poet, business owner, mother, and former military spouse. Her company was started on the battlefields of Afghanistan when her photojournalist husband, Former Army Sgt. Charles Brice, stated he wanted to tell a different story. The two artists, who met in college, combined forces to create the award-winning marketing and advertising agency, Brice Media

Talamieka Brice serves as CEO for Brice Media and has worked with Kim Kardashian and Cassandra Wilson, in addition to creating marketing campaigns for companies including the American Heart Association. Brice Media also recently completed the Barack Obama Mural for the newly minted Barack Obama Elementary School.

Talamieka was recognized as one of 25 Women Changing the World by Conversations Magazine. She has worked with Antonelli College as an adjunct instructor and served as a panelist for the Mississippi Creative Economy. Talamieka resides in Ridgeland, Mississippi with her husband Charles, son Honor, daughter Love and fur babies Luly and Gandalf.
